GT35 questions

Something we have not answered? Ask a driller.

How deep can the GT35 drill?

The GT35 is designed to drill boreholes to 650 ft productively, and can reach beyond 1,300 ft (400 m) with mud, air or DTH hammer. That covers most domestic and commercial ground source heat pump loops.

Compare depths across the GT Series

What engine and pull-back does the GT35 have?

A Doosan DL08 Stage 5 engine rated at 290 hp (213 kW), and 35,000 lbs (16,000 kg) of pull-back with 14,330 lbs (6,500 kg) of push-down over a 24 ft 7 in (7.5 m) head stroke.

How big and heavy is the GT35 to move?

It is 38 ft 7 in (11.8 m) long, 7 ft 8 in (2.4 m) wide and 10 ft 3 in (3.2 m) high, and weighs 44,000–55,000 lbs (20,000–25,000 kg) depending on the options and rods on board. It sits on Doosan Solar 75 tracks with steel and rubber pads, and travels on a wireless remote.

Which mud pumps come on the GT35?

A 4×3×13 single-stage centrifugal pump and an MP1000 4.5×5.5 triplex piston pump (264 gpm at 580 psi), so you have high flow and high pressure on the same rig. The larger MP1200 5×6 triplex (317 gpm at 580 psi) is an option.

Can I upgrade the GT35’s drill head?

Yes. The standard head is a variable twin-motor head giving 6,195 lb-ft at up to 135 rpm, or 3,097 lb-ft at up to 260 rpm. High-torque motors with a reduction gearbox add 24% torque, and the Eurodrill RH16X option almost doubles it. If you need that torque every day, the GT45 carries the RH16X as standard.

Is the rod rack standard on the GT35?

Yes. Every GT rig, the GT35 included, carries our own rod rack and rod loader as standard — the most robust, reliable and safest rod handling system on the market — along with double clamps (one rotating) opening to 12½ in (320 mm), hydraulic centralizing rollers and a breakout chain wrench.

Can I monitor the rig remotely?

Yes. GTData puts rate of penetration, torque, RPM, pressures, fuel, weight on bit and depth on a live read-out above the driller’s controls and on a cloud dashboard, with alerts that flag bit wear, formation changes and maintenance before they cost you a shift.
