What is the GT65DR?

Our flagship dual rotary geothermal rig: a GT65 with a Eurodrill RH40X casing head alongside its Eurodrill RH24X top drive, on a 513 hp Cummins X12 Stage 5 engine with 65,000 lbs of pull-back.

How much casing torque does the GT65DR have?

The RH40X casing head delivers 29,500 lb-ft (40 kNm) at up to 180 rpm — enough to advance casing through boulders and gravels that would stop a smaller head.

How deep can the GT65DR drill?

Beyond 1,000 ft, with mud, air or DTH hammer, holding the hole open with casing on the way down.

What casing sizes does it take?

Chucks for 3½ in (89 mm), 5 in (152 mm), 6 in (168 mm) and 7 in (178 mm) casing, with a 4 in (102 mm) diverter with hydraulically adjustable compression. The clamps and table open to 12½ in (320 mm).

GT45DR or GT65DR?

Both drill dual rotary. The GT65DR has the bigger engine, more pull-back and twice the casing-head torque, so it is the choice for deeper holes, larger casing and the hardest overburden; the GT45DR suits lighter programs at 850 ft and beyond.

Is there an exploration version?

Yes. The X65DR is built on the same platform for reverse circulation exploration, with RC components and a 5 in thru-hole swivel, and is rated beyond 2,600 ft.

Can I monitor the rig remotely?

Yes. GTData puts rate of penetration, torque, RPM, pressures, fuel, weight on bit and depth on a live read-out above the driller’s controls and on a cloud dashboard, with alerts that flag bit wear, formation changes and maintenance before they cost you a shift.
